The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation will travel back in time to the swing era this Valentine’s Day for the 2nd Annual “Night of Assists” charity gala presented by Highmark at PPG Paints Arena.
All Penguins players, coaches and management will be on hand to take part in the organization’s signature charity event of the season.
Following this year’s theme, “The Sweetheart Swing,” guests will enjoy big band tunes amidst dapper décor and a dance floor covering the ice of PPG Paints Arena. Penguins players will challenge guests to casino games including blackjack, roulette and craps. Players also will greet guests as they try their luck at a variety of games themed to Valentine’s Day. AT&T Sports Network personality Dan Potash will serve as the gala’s emcee.
An open bar with crafty cocktails and signature drinks will be available for all attendees, as well as food stations with elevated cuisine of the era. In addition, a VIP Reception will be held in the Lexus Club in partnership with TribLive.com with players, coaches and management in attendance to meet and mingle with guests. The VIP Reception will feature a tasting of 30 premium wines and champagnes.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Penguins Foundation’s vast array of youth initiatives and special needs programs that benefit children throughout the greater Pittsburgh region. Last season’s inaugural Night of Assists raised $450,000.
The Foundation salutes Highmark for its continuing commitment to the community in presenting this special event, as well as to all “Night of Assists” partners for their support.
