84 Lumber has been named the presenting partner of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Military Appreciation Game, which will take place on Thursday, November 11 at 7:00 PM against the Florida Panthers.
The Penguins and 84 Lumber are partnering for the Military Appreciation Game and several other initiatives to celebrate those who have fought, and continue to fight, for our freedom every day.
“We are so excited to once again be partnering with the Penguins for this year’s Military Appreciation Game,” said Amy Smiley, vice president of marketing for 84 Lumber. “From offering military discounts to supporting organizations like the Fisher House Foundation, 84 Lumber makes it a priority to show special appreciation to our military all year round. We hope this game, and all the military initiatives we’re working on with the Penguins, has a positive impact on veterans and active-duty military in our community.”
84 Lumber will be providing 1,500 tickets for local military members and veterans to attend the Military Appreciation Game at no cost to them. Military members who are interested in attending can enter for their chance to receive tickets here. Military members can enter through Friday, November 5 and the randomly selected winners will be notified on Monday, November 8. In addition, any military member or veteran is eligible to receive a special ticket discount for the game. To take advantage, those eligible can visit here to register for a GovX account and purchase tickets.
On November 11, the Penguins will take the ice for pre-game warmups in custom military jerseys to honor those that served and continue to serve our country. Penguins players will also have custom military name plates in the locker room.
Jerseys and name plates will be autographed and put up for auction from November 11-18. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Friends of Pittsburgh Fisher House, as well as the Pittsburgh Warriors. To join the auction, visit here.
84 Lumber is also teaming up with the Penguins Foundation to host a baby shower for expecting military mothers and new military mothers at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday, December 18. These military families will have the opportunity to enjoy a brunch and be showered and pampered for the day surrounded by the family, friends and some special guests of the Penguins.
Military families can also request to receive a Hug-a-Hero doll for local military children. These dolls are customized stuffed dolls that have a picture of the child’s military hero, in hopes of bringing some happiness, joy and comfort to these children. To submit your request for your military child, visit here.
Lastly, 84 Lumber and the Penguins will be honoring one local and deserving veteran-owned business to be featured at the Military Appreciation Game. Businesses can be nominated through November 6 here and the selected business will receive a suite to the game and static dasher board advertising in PPG Paints Arena for the game on November 11 to promote and support their endeavors.
