Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is continuing to sell Penguins “Love Your Melon” beanies, with proceeds benefiting a new, state-of-the-art “Ronald McDonald Care Mobile” for the Ronald McDonald House Charities to service the Greater Pittsburgh Region.
The Foundation’s goal is to help fund this 40-foot, vehicle built specifically for the delivery of pediatric health care to underserved communities in our region. Staffed by professionals from UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the Care Mobile provides wellness visits, immunizations, physicals, dental exams, asthma care, sick visits and more to children in Pittsburgh.
If the fundraising goal is met, the new Care Mobile in Pittsburgh will feature a Penguins-themed exam room providing “distraction therapy” by transporting kids to a hockey atmosphere rather than keeping their focus on their medical exam and treatment.
Fans can help the Penguins Foundation bring the Care Mobile to life by purchasing their own $35 Penguins “Love Your Melon” beanie. Beanies are available at home games behind the Key Bank Club at Section 104 as well as online at pittsburghpenguinsfoundation.org.
